Radiators Plus can repair most oil coolers from brass copper, steel and aluminium units. We can chemically clean, power flush and test oil coolers. Radiators Plus can also manufacture some units in house.
A Wide Range of Oil Coolers
Oil coolers come in a wide range of shapes and sizes, Radiators Plus have extensive experience with each radiator type. Three of the most common radiator types used in Australia are:
- CT-style coolers — Some car and industrial oil coolers are the CT or tube and fin style coolers manufactured here in Australia.
- Plate and Fin coolers — Made as a dimple design universal and highly efficient trans or engine oil cooler. Compact and rigid while offering a high heat transfer and corrosion resistance. Manufactured here in Australia.
- Bar and plate coolers — These oil coolers are used in mining, logging, farming and other heavy duty applications. Can handle high pressures up to 25 bar.
There is another design that is becoming increasingly more common, which is the Oil to Water Oil Cooler. The unit is a PWR heat exchanger that comes in two sizes. 6″ and 8″ long.
They simply connect to the BTM radiator hose outlet which feeds back to the water pump. Oil is pumped in via a sandwich plate where the oil filter goes. This very efficient little device will keep oil temps at a more constant temp. which also leads to cooler radiator temps.
